Why This Topic, Right Now

The Ollama search volume has held steady at ~8.2k/month; cloud API cost comparison has grown to ~12k/month as more startups optimize.
These aren't vanity metrics—they're intent signals. Someone searching "Ollama vs OpenAI cost" is often 2–3 weeks away from a purchasing decision. They're not dreaming; they're deciding.
Current SEO Strategy
I've shifted from broad keyword targeting to what I'm calling "intent clusters"—groups of closely related queries that signal the same need. Rather than chasing #1 ranking on a single keyword, I'm building clusters of 3–5 related posts that collectively target people in a specific decision phase.

What I'm Learning
Honest observation: The AI business content I'm writing is working because it solves a real, painful decision. Every developer I'm reaching already owns the problem. They're not reading to learn it exists; they're reading to make it go away faster.
The mistake I made early was writing about "the future of AI hosting" and "why self-hosting matters philosophically." Engagement was flat. No one cared. The moment I started writing "here's the exact hardware you need and how much it costs," traffic doubled.
I'm also learning that my calculator tools (cost comparison, hardware picker, pricing breakeven) are driving return visits. People bookmark them. They send them to teammates. That's social proof I can measure.
Finally: writing $0-to-profit honestly means admitting when a strategy isn't working. I'm not there yet—no revenue, no conversions yet. But the foundation is real traffic from real search intent. That's worth noting.
